The Tal Handaq School Gates. Taken from outside looking into the school. Notice the name of the school at top right - Liceo Vassalli Tal Handaq. I find this photo particularly evocative - difficult to explain exactly why as I don't particularly recall being aware of the gates as the school bus pulled in each day. Guess something must have registered with my sub-conscious!
RNS Tal Handaq - Looking through the School Gates
So here we are looking through the entrance gates that we went through every
day in our school bus. On the left is a stand of the ubiquitous prickly pear cactus.
In my first summer I innocently picked a ripe "pear" with my bare hands and peeled
it and ate it - got those horrible micro-spines in my fingers and lips - everywhere!!

To the right is the Science Block with the name of the current school (Liceo M A
Vassalli Tal Handaq) on the side wall. You can also see the small building that was
"The Pop-Shop" in the late 50's.
