Revisiting my old 3BG classroom was the emotional highlight of my 2005 visit. Even climbing the outside stairs
felt "right" and when Marc gave me the classroom door key and invited me to open the door ...well I can't tell
you what that meant to me - it was just so special - a very kind and considerate gesture that meant so much -

Amazingly even after 45 years I still recognised the classroom. Ok the blackboard's gone and the desks are
different and facing the opposite way - but as far as I could tell everything else is the same. The buttermilk
window frames, the floor tiles, the old ceiling fans and most importantly the unique "look and feel" of the room -
it was just as I remembered it. Sitting at my old desk (turned to face the door as it did in 1959/60) I was
totally overwhelmed with feelings of nostalgia. As I looked at the open door - just for a few brief moments I was
the 14 year old Bruce Williams once again, in class surrounded by my classmates and waiting for the teacher to
arrive. It was just one magic word away from being reality!
